Marc I was wonderingif you would take good pics of all the vacuum lines under the hood. Ive tried to read the diagrams that other people have put up but can't figure it out. Anything would be great.
I finally got the winch mount back from getting powder coated. I tried to have the winch repaired but it's not repairable. It sat outside in the mud for roughly 20 years. I looked on Craigslist and Ebay and tried to find a period correct replacement but came up empty handed. So, I bought a new 8,000lb winch and installed it today.
I also made a trip to the wrecking yard today. I found two factory delay wiper setups in 79 F250's. I bought them both for $20.00. Installed one of them and it works perfect.
For the last three weeks, I have been driving the truck everyday to work and back. I had one guy follow me to work and offer me $5,500 cash. I told him it's not for sale! So far, my MPG has ranged from 12.26-14.31. The downside, it now has 40,026 miles on it.
Did you serve jail time for theft? lol, jk. I love it as is, but its your call, at the end of the day, the only person you have to please is YOU. Congrats on a great find.
I finally got the factory wheels back from powder coating and installed them. I also bought a set of factory dog dish hubcaps. However, I don't think that I will install them since the truck didn't come with hubcaps from the factory and they are for earlier models.
In the next few weeks, I am going to repaint the roof. the paint is thin in areas.
I also had a chance to try out the 4 wheel drive last weekend during a scouting trip for bow hunting.
I'm thinkin we all hate you
Damn thats a nice truck!
X2, you've got a really, really nice truck.
Just me, but I'd keep it as close to stock as possible.
That one's a true survivor. It's like a 4 wheel time capsule.
Clean out your mail inbox! You now have the obligation of being the "go-to" guy when people have restoration questions about how something original was done on the truck. You might as well have every inch of that truck professionally photographed for us.
Oh...you would be doing a HUGE disservice to that truck my modifying it in anyway. If it were me, I would even do what ever I could to get that original winch running and on there.
