Question Power everywhere, no start (previously discussed)

99 7.3, chipped, 4 inch exhaust, 193 K. To re-tell the tale, turn the key, have all accessories, wait to start, then go to start and nothing. Discover that one terminal on the passenger side battery spins (neg). Replace battery, and all is well (I think I solved it, right?). Three weeks later, many uneventfull trips, and it happens again. Have read a bunch of posts, figure I will just jump the relay on the fender, but I just tapped it a little, tugged on the leads (seemed tight), and yes, she starts. All wires and cables seem good on visual inspection. My question is, is there a way to "test" a relay? or do I just go ahead and replace it? Is it a readily available part or is this a dealership hit? Thanks for any responses. Chris

Since your last issue was ground related, I'd start by pulling the relay off the fender and cleaning the back of the relay and the fender. The relay grounds to the fender so if you've got any corrosion there it could be an issue.

Otherwise use a multi-meter and check for voltage coming out of the relay when the key is turned to start. Also use it to check the ground connection to the fender.

Is this an automatic? Have you tried moving the shifter to neutral? I have the same symptoms since my shifter cable is slightly misaligned.
