Sad to say its a no crank no start

So I am pretty good at figuring this truck out on my own always. But she has finally stumped me with a no crank no start.... so what I have done is.. new starter 2 new battires, new relay cleaned the cables so I can see my reflection and eat Chrisman dinner off of! Will not start in neutral or park even if I wiggle the shifter . It is an automatic truck. I have tried jumping selonoid from small post of relay to battery. All trys only get me a single loud click till key is released or jumper is removed. Only way to start it is crawl under arc start selonoid that is on starter... any one have any new input that may help?

When you do the jump on the relay, is the click you hear from the relay itself, or do you hear a louder click down below?

When you crawl under, exactly what two things are you connecting?

Oh - how are the main battery-to-block grounds?

Does the relay on the fender click when the key is turned? I would check continuity of the trigger wire from the solenoid on the fender to the starter.

Madpogue: I belive it is only clicking on the selonoid when when jumping small terminal to the positive battery post. I can't tell if it is also on the starter cause 1 man band right now.
Red97350: yes the relay on fender clicks with key

I would check for continuity on the trigger wire, or you could possibly run a temporary wire to the solenoid on the starter.

Wait, I am a bit off here. The small wire on the fender solenoid comes form the key. I would have to look at my truck to figure out where the trigger wire for the starter comes from.

If you take a jumper from the big post on the starter to the small post on the starter, does it turn over?

I've had that small wire break on mine but that small wire is what is power by the solenoid not that actual starter. Take a pic of your fender mounted solenoid so we can see wiring

Desertshark,

I can try to look at my truck tomorrow and see where the trigger wire comes from for the starter. I don't think I have a wiring diagram for that.

The trigger wire on the starter comes from the relay.
