I've read lots about the ccv reroute but I didn't find anything obvious on FTE about a delete. When my new turbo goes in, or maybe sooner I'd really like to delete this thing.
My cummins vents to the outside air and I think the international version of this engine does too (I think I read that somewhere?)
I was thinking of doing something similar, with a small ccv filter added to the end of the hose to address suction back towards the crankcase.
Any comments on this set up from those in the know?
Bismic, I know you've looked at the ccv issue a good deal and I've seen your racor set up, but that's a pricey filter, even the next size down is $300 if I recall. Any thoughts on the small filter?
Sounds like quite a few folks have had good luck w/ the open ended hose. I know on the Org, many folks have installed a smaller filter (and hose) - I have seen no posts of any problems. I am still glad I went the route I did, but it was probably overkill ...
I would still recommend using a 1" hose though - and do not create any low spots where a water pocket (condensation) could form a restrictive plug.
Piolet i cut a piece of plastic 1/8" thick , cut piece off filter tube to a flat area and used epoxy the fasten it on ,its still there . And 1" hose, napa only place i found it and its not cheap . but as bismic said it got to run down hill all the way , no ups
