on a WOT run from 60-80mph, my HPOP will climb above 3000psi and then fall off to around 2400psi (kinda hard to watch for exact numbers at 80mph) at the same time my duty cycle will rise to around 75%.
Does this sound like the HPOP is getting weak or could it just be the IPR that needs to be rebuilt/replaced?
Also...the ICP sensor is fairly new maybe 10K miles on it. But there is a little oil in the connection. not like standing oil but just a light coat....the old sensor was the same way when i replaced it. is a little oil normal?
Remove the connector, and at idle, see if oil is leaking up through the sensor.
If oil is leaking past the o-ring and getting in the connector that is one thing (replace o-ring), but if it is leaking through the sensor then the sensor is not reading accurately and will eventually fail.

Holy cow...
Note to self.

Pump time. If Stage 1's are using that much oil.....then you have a weak pump.
Hey not to be a captain obvious but do yourself a favor and drop an LPOP in there at the same time as it would be a shame to not be able to feed that nice new pump!

NO reason to replace the LPOP If there are no issues with it.
Leave it alone.
At 160k I have to disagree it's a reasonable mileage to replace it especially if your doing an HPOP it's a good inexpensive insurance policy! Just my opinion! And 25 years of diesel engine experience!

Replacing a functioning LPOP when doing a HPOP is like changing the rear diff fluid because your doing an oil change... Just doesn't make sense.
LPOP's are not something that have an expiration date on them, there is never any guarantee that a new LPOP will not fail or any number of issues will not happen...
Leave well enough alone, Do you also recommend replacing CPS's because your in there?
In over a million miles of driving these trucks, working on these trucks and lending a hand on these trucks (12 years) I have seen one LPOP issue.

Don't be Ridiculos! I'm not an idiot, and im not for changing parts unnessecarly, but if you read the post he is after big VOLUME with a t-500 and why take the risk of installing that high dollar pump and not putting 80.00 melling LPOP in to feed it enough volume to operate at rpm is kind of like saying my truck hasnt been stolen why buy insurance!
Especially since the OP was referring to making big oil modifications to the top end witch is the only reason I suggested a new LPOP, had this been a stock truck thread it wouldn't have even crossed my mind, but he is talking VOLUME! Not stock!
