I'm putting my new IP back in. I have bottom two fuel lines tight because it seems like it would be impossible to get to them once the IP is back in to me. The rest of the lines are loose and I still can't seem to get it back in. Any suggestions?
to tighten the lines when you get it back in use a 5/8 )iirc is the size of the injector nut) crows foot 3/8 drive with an extension coming in from the intake hat where all the lines turn to there respected sides... and it takes a bit of maneuvering and a bit of patience but once you hit the "sweet spot" it should just fall in literally
you can put it back in with all the lines on, I just did it and the easiest way I found was to move all the hoses against the firewall up, remove the two bolts for the throttle cable bracket and bring the front (gear end) of the IP in at a slight angle from the drivers side. If the timing gear is 12:00, then between that and 1:00 seemed to work best. You are going to have to jigger it around a little, but it will just fall into place when you get the angle right. make sure the alignment dowel is lined up with the pump so you don't have to pull it back out to check that like someone I know.
and take out that little fu%$#^ng plug in the fuel inlet before you put it back or you will have to take it out again like that guy I know.
I got it back in. I loosened all but the bottom two lines. It was a bitch but I'm done and the damn thing actually started! Lol. I'll post a follow up with more pics in my installing new IP and injectors thread!
