Well I drove the Zebra around a bit today. Couldn't make it to the shop do to a state trooper donut convention in the lot next to my shops entrance.
I did call and get a quote for a new windshield, gonna cost about $150 plus taxes and such. Not bad, I still haven;t heard from the one guy that wanted to buy the truck. I plan to slowly fix and repair the damage, until either someone buys it or its all fixed.
I keep a sharp eye out for parts but I can't find anything close by or cheap. Seems like most of the trucks I find locally were cast at Ft Knox judging by the prices.
I have been looking nonstop for a truck to get parts from and lately I'm thinking maybe its best to just get another truck and pull parts off the Zebra. Just thinking, even if I get the parts there no telling what else I'll find wrong once I'm able to pull the door and rest of the fender off.
how much did you pay to get it back? 1500 doesnt sound like a bad deal.. i was asking 2k for mine.. couldnt get it for *****.. its been sitting on craigslist for months lol
The guy that wants to buy it is waiting on some sort of settlement. For the time being I will just slowly work on fixing the truck if I can locate good parts in the area. So far all the parts I can find are 2+ hours away.
Well I thought I found some great deals on Rockauto. I found a fender, headlight, turn signal, hood hinge, and headlight bezel all for ~$105.....then I looked up shipping....$100 to ship one fender. That's one and a half times the cost of the dang fender itself....The search continues.
I was all set to go ahead and click buy until I saw the shipping cost. That is completly unreasonable. For that much i may as well pay freight shipping and get a whole truck shippied in. Seriously my 68 coupe cost me about $700 to ship all the way across the country and they want $100 to ship ONE fender a few states...
