I think it looks pretty nice. Here's what he said:
1986 Ford Bronco 4X4 V8 5.0L Fuel injected. 130,254 miles. Just Passed Inspection!!!this week..Automatic with cruise control, A/C worked but needs to be recharged, front seat has a few tears in the material, and some rust along the bottom of the body panels but runs fine and the four wheel drive engages and disengages fine. Small oil leak. Any questions please feel free to ask.
Aww only a 5.0? Bummer... Oh well, can't be too hard to change motor mounts for something else. IMO, I would get the bronco over the pickup BUT, that's just me.
I'm leaning towards the Bronco as well.
A. Its fuel injected, less hassle then the carb.
B. Newer, every little bit counts.
C. Smaller, this will be the wife's bad weather truck so it needs to be easy to drive.
The Bronco is only a 5.0, kind of a bummer but thats all it really needs to get around.
Bronco is better shape.. Aww 302.. Change the motor mounts and swap a 351in
Same mounts IIRC. If it was carb it'd be no issue, however this is early SD and has an AOD so even swapping the Zebra's motor won't work without a new ECU. I am done messing around with the E4OD.
Thanks guys, the Bronco does look very well taken care of.
Ehh I don't think the 302 mounts are the same as 351. Plus if it's a wife vehicle then the 302 shouldn't be bad. It won't have the power to get her in trouble. Brett, that bronco is a good choice since you regretted selling the zebra. Also I thought 86 was carbed?
Oh yeah I know about the 302's power, heck the specs of an EFI one are higher than my 351M at stock power. I have a 302 from a 1974 vehicle in my garage that I started a rebuild on. I never finished it though, we got the heads off and cleaned the surfaces, then put some oil on the metal to keep it from rusting and forgot about it. I have been thinking about continuing the rebuild after I do some work on my bronco.
I like the 302s.. I'd take one for fuel economy and tune it a little bit.. I would love to swap a 5 speed in and get rid of the e4od.. Since I do have a full roller motor sitting in my ratrod.. Who knows If it'll come out again and go in the ol bronxo
