Alright the truck stumbles a little bit after fixing almost all the core components, the main thing left to do is tear down, clean and rebuild the carb. And thus I hit a problem... What model carb do I have? I thought it would be a Stromberg but after a little research I seem to think it's a Holley92. I've put some pictures so you experts can chime in!
You have a mixed up batch of parts. The top is a pre - World War 2 piece, this can be determined by the vertical oval shaped vent slot that can be seen in the first and second pictures. This top will not let you use the improved 8BA style spray bars in the center section of the carburetor. I think your center section is a 56 truck unit. The 56 cars with 272 engines had automatic choke, and the truck carbs had the blanked off passage for this. The base may be a 48 and earlier unit too, from the looks of the hand throttle linkage. If it is a pre 49 (pre 8BA) base you will not have the passages in the base to work with the vacuum advance passages in your center section. I took your top picture and pointed out the areas of interest. I think you should find a correct 8BA carburetor. If you have a truck air cleaner you can find a correct 8RT carb.
