I need some assistance with a couple misc. parts please: My truck has factory a/c if it matters. Stock 300
Alternator: what amp alternator came on my truck - 60? The reman on it now does not have any markings but it does have the two prong plug that has the tines perpendicular to each other on top.
Distributor O-ring: Have not been able to fine one for the 300. Many places list the V8 distributor part. Does this distributor have an o-ring, or is the gasket at the hold down?

Either 40, 60 or 70.
Since you have AC, 60 or 70.

E3TZ-12143-AMR "O" RING (SEAL) Fits 1980/ 6 cyl 300 cid engines. Not available separately, serviced only in 12127 distributor assembly.
Your only hope is aftermarket; I would first try NAPA, then Car Quest, then a speed shop. Failing that, go online to maybe Summit Racing, maybe eBay.
The part number of the O-Ring that fits ALL (up to 1989 at least) 8-cyl engines is B9TF-12143-A.
B9..... This part has remained the same since 1959.....
Yet the dist itself varies between different engines......
Must be the length only, since the OD of the housing where it meets the intake *must* be the same, if the o-ring/seal is the same.
Very interesting......
