Does anyone know the size of the o-ring on a 2000 Ford F150 dip stick?
I need to order on from The O-ring Store but they do not have the size listed. The check engine light is on and I changed everything the code said but it is still on. A mechanic said my missing o-ring could creat a vacuum leak. Anyway please help I am tired of spending money.
Take the dipstick to the o-ring place. Get ones in the size you need in various cross sections. O-rings are not that expensive. Alternately, order it from the dealership.
Small problem is the space between the tube and the block hole requires just the right ring thickness as well as the ID for the tube. The fit is pretty tight.
Usually this ring never is a problem but the tube breaks or rusts out somewhere along it's lenght.
Been there already.
When I replaced my tube the ring came with it for about $15.
Hint, that the new tube is a bit to long on the block end and needs to be shortened about 1" to even get in place without takeing the exhaust manifold loose.
BTW what is the code? You may be wrong in interpetation.
