Unfortunately, I'm not old enough to do either of the last two things you mentioned...
The drinking part I get, but you can shoot a gun at any age. You can't own one, but you can still shoot one, although you do have to know someone that owns one if you are under 18. I started shooting real guns around age 5. I passed my hunter's safety course and got my first hunting license at 8 years old.

Truck night tonight, golf tomorrow, Gail's b'day Sunday, patriotic revelry @ my cousin's in La Mirada on Monday.

No plans to discharge firearms, but you never know what can happen.

Bill,

Despite the erroneous post from above:

As a homeowner, you are entitled to transport in your personal vehicle up to 15 gallons or 125 pounds of hazardous waste (if that's what it is at all) to a Household Hazardous Waste disposal site. These are usually a county-run facility.

Here in the City of Los Angeles we have a few SAFE Centers around the city (one is even on-campus of UCLA). SAFE Centers take almost anything, in the limited quantities noted.

L.A. County also has collection roundups frequently, and there's one upcoming in Norwalk on the 9th. See:
LACSD Website - HHW / E-Waste

However, they may not be accepting asbestos at that roundup (usually not), so I would call ahead. If it IS asbestos (you needn't test it) it has to be at least double-bagged, and each bag can't be over (I believe it is) seventy pounds.

If he were a homeowner, and ever had to dispose of hazardous waste, the poster above would have known better.

If he were a little more mature, he would have known better than to spout things about which he knows nothing.

I'm off to pick up my daughter/son in-law & their 2 kids at LAX, Bringing with me my wife, son, & 2 nephews- someone's gotta sit in the jumpseat. We'll hang out in Ramona for the long weekend. Might see a 'where am i?' picture next week...
