Hi everyone.
WOOHOO!...race day here! Time to get everything ready for the kids. I washed my 4Runner & loaded my med bag, backboard, splints, & O2 lastnight so all I have to do today is load the quads/bikes, make sure everyone has all their gear, & pickup the neighbor kid on our way. He'll be racing too!
Hope you all have a great day. I'm off & running...
We are lucky here in Whittier to have our own city landfill. On Saturdays, residents can dump a pickup load for $20. It is a small operation up there compared to Puente Hills. Easy in and out with few big truck to deal with. To give you an idea of how small, they cover the trash every night with tarps. They were pulling them off as I pulled up. The Seagulls were eagerly waiting for their breakfast.
I'm not sure. But for that you would have to go to city hall during the week to get the permit. I think this might have replaced that policy, but I'm not sure. I could not find anything about the permits on the web site.
It's only taken me the better part of a year to sit down and figure out how to get picasa to work. I'll have some more flattering pics of the little guy soon. At 9 or 10 mo old, he's just under 80lbs. He should keep growing until he's around 2.... so hoping he'll see 100-120. He's everything I hoped for in a family dog. Huge, huggable, laid back, fuzzy, friendly (loves everyone) and happy to go anywhere and do anything. I was a little worried that he might be something of a panzy... because he pouts when I get home if he doesn't get a big goofy hug. I quit worrying when I realised how protective he is of my wife when I'm not home. :-) You should see the delivery folk bolt for the gate when they hear him on the other side of the door. Fortunately... they can't see his sh*# eating grin or giant wagging tail through 2" of wood. He's happy to be included in whatever you're up to... just so long as he doesn't get left at home. He's 1/2 the reason the truck got a new interior. I didn't want to have to deal with my wife's reaction when I hesitated the first time I had to choose between making room for the dog... or the new baby (which should arrive any day now). The other half is because he did this when he was a puppy. Can't entirely blame him... he was only a few months old... and with the small split in the leather (I hadn't gotten around to stitching it up), the foam looked suspiciously like the irresistible foam inside of a few of his favourite toys.
Also have pics of the new interior and new parts to post - but they'll have to wait until I have the truck back together tomorrow. I haven't even popped the hood, and I've already made a trip to the hardware store and a trip to the stealership for one more sensor. I'm hoping one last trip to the auto parts store should have me set for the rest of the weekend.
(stuff to make a new tube for the exhaust back pressure sensor - trying to decide if I want to relocate the sensor... and where I might relocate it to.) Will make sure to take pics of truck parts too, although except for the hpop, it's all small stuff that doesn't look terribly impressive. The sensors are so small you'd have to set them on top of a copy of the recipt for anyone to really appreciate how frustrating it is to replace two or three at a time. :-)
I've had the pleasure of meeting Bo in person. Anyone else have pics of their best friends handy?
Been making a point to support restaurants with big dog-friendly patios. If anyone is out by Ventura - Sea Fresh has excellent food, and a huge pet friendly patio. On hot days they even keep big stainless water bowls out near some of the tables.
