i had my leveling kit put on today and my alignemnt done but when i went to pick it up they told me the springs were too long for them to get in align perfectly. the guy said it was off about 4 degrees and he couldnt do any better. he said hes got it set up to where it ownt eat my tires but it will ride kind of funny. they said they make a bracket that drops the support arms down enough to get them in align? ive never heard of these? he said it mounts to that crossmember and then the support arms bolt to it. where do i get these? and are they really necesarry? am i going to trash these tires with it being off 4 degress?
4 degrees of what? caster? camber? toe? How much lift was the levelling kit to provide? If you had 4 degrees of positive camber, which is what a levelling kit is going to most affect, you would be able to see that. The top of the tire would be leaning out visibly. Did he replace the camber/caster bushings? 4 degrees positive camber is quite a bit - my truck was not that far off *before* alignment.
I guess its the positive camber. You cant visibly see that it is. The springs were supposed to give 1.5-2" lift and came from superlift. I bought them through bronco graveyard. They used the adjustable camber bushings that came with my leveling kit.
It still pulls to the right a littlw bit but im hoping its where my tires are wore and that when i rotate them that part will be fixed.
I measured it last night and i gained about 2-2.5" of lift upfront
which one would i need? he said he couldnt go any farther with the bushings that he used (the ones that came with the leveling kit) and its still off about 4 degrees.
im assuming the bracket the shop was referring to is the axle pivot brackets? could i use the washer looking type on that page or do i need the gladiator cadet?
Which one raptor? The link just sent me to the same page.
They got mine as close as they could too but it still pulls to the right. No where near as bad but then again like i said it may just be from having wore tires.
Raptor does yours still have alot of positive camber? Did you fix yours or leave it alone?
I repeat - 4 degrees pos. camber is a LOT. You should be able to see that visually. If not, I think the measurement is off. I don't trust your front-end guy. My truck wasn't even at 4 degrees BEFORE I put the alignment bushings in.
U can visually see it. And to be completely honest i might have been at 4 degrees negative camber before i had the new springs put on. But thats just a guess by comparing the lean of the wheels
whats eventually going to happen if i dont do anything about it and just drive it the way it is? i know my tires are going to wear still but the guy said he had it to where it shouldnt eat up my tires.
Anyone know what happened to the drop brakets? I dont see them listed and i need to find some specifications on them. I hve a buddy thats going to fabricate them
For me.
