So i bought a 95 f250. The driverside door is sagging consiterably and needs to be lifted to close it. Hinges are tight to frame and door and there is visable play in the hinge.
I feel like i could figure it out as i go but have not made this repair before.
Please advise the best way to repair this and if there is anything i need to be aware of before i start so i can be prepared.
I have already purchased 2 replacement pin/bushing kits.
I would do them one at a time. I used the HELP ones. I just supported the door and cut the old pin with a Dremel and tapped it out. Then I put the new bushing and pin and clip in.
Another thing to look at in the process is the striker bolt bushings for the door latch. Just a couple days ago I realized there's actually a plastic bushing that goes on the striker bolt and mine were long gone...picked them up for like $5 and the doors close like brand new. Not doubting your hinges are shot because it sounds like they are, but I was having problems closing my driver's door and the bushings made a huge difference.
Yeap.....They seem to disappear from these trucks...I don't have any on this one, but I stole the new strikers off my 94 before I junked it...So that'll prolly be tomorrows thing to do...
P.S=MAKE SURE YOU SCRIBE A LINE AROUND THE OLD STRIKER BEFORE REMOVING IT!!!!!
Makes the installation of the new stuff a LOT easier...
So can a novice do this job? Driver door is driving me crazy...
If you can walk and chew gum at the same time there is no reason anyone couldn't do it..
Just pay close attention to any instructions you find.. Just beware these doors are heavy so be sure to have a helper or a floor jack and a piece of wood (to protect the door finish)

Funny you mention that. I literally just changed mine today. $3 bucks at advance.
