ECT VS. EOT Question

So I have read about the ECT vs EOT and understand that anything over 15 degree difference is bad.. now is there such thing as it bieng too close All the time? Today it was 102 outside and I pulled a 4k trailer up and down hill and my ECT and EOT were within 2 degrees at most averaged from 196-205 but no matter what they are ALWAYS within 2 degrees. is that good/bad? Mods are listed below....

What are you checking temps with they just seem to close , i think in that heat you should see eot's 210 pr more . I see a easy 10 or more degree spread when towing. I think something is wrong with your gauges.

Im using the Edge Evolution Tuner.. EGT is Averaged at 7-800 light acceleration, 900-1200 heavy acceleration. I have it set to level 2 (economy) max boost i have seen is 27LBS. Max temp I have seen since I have had the tuner (1 week) is 215 Max oil temp 217. No smoke at all.. it has been to Ford before i bought it several times for EGR cooler replacement and other fixes in the same region (smoking at idle etc) but it runs great now no problems at all.

2 degree spread is great but should vary a little to like when you pull a hill it should go up a few degrees and then come down fairly quick after you top the hill

what do you use to monitor temps with

my oil cooler only has 250miles on it and I see anywhere from 3-8 deghree spread BTW I have to push it up a hill to see 8 degree spread and its very brief

I use SGII its fluid temps are within 1 degree after cold soak at startup thats how you check the accurucy of your gauge

compare eot ect tft at startup

I wish mine were that close, although towing temps seem about right, good luck.

I have the BPD external oil cooler and my A/C drives up the EOT
compared to my ECT.
when I pull off the highway and stop my EOT goes up and will
gradually come down as more air flows over the cooler.

Double check your Xgauge codes, it's possible you entered the
same codes for both ECT and EOT but with different names?
I'll be it's something simple like that.

I see 8* at 70, and 6* at 60 on my sg.pushed it up a nine mile hill and did see 11* for a moment, but cooled back down to 5* then back to 8*.if you're only getting 2* that's one helluva cooler you got.I'm gonna say that once my trailer is behind me 15* won't be hard to hit climbing a hill.you should see some kind of fluctuation, especially at that ambient temp.

Ill play around with it this weekend. A friend needs me to pull a 29 ft enclosed trailer with a car and a bunch of other stuff in it.. this should be interesting. It will be the heaviest pull for me yet. Ill get it weighed in and see what it is.
