I just bought a double-din Pioneer head unit called AppRadio2 that is supposed to be able to communicate with my Droid. A special cable is en route and last night I "rooted" my Galaxy S3 so an application called ARLiberator will run on it. Theoretically, I'm about to see my Torque gauges on the head unit's big screen.

Good stuff man! I love this app and love the work you have done. From what I can tell, it looks like Ian has incoporated all of your work into the app. I hope you are getting a kickback!
That said, I can't get coolant working? I always get -40. The equation is A-40, so my guess is that it is always returning a 0.

Update. The Torque application continues to be a win.
Works terrific:
Coolant temp
Oil temp
Tranny temp
Boost
Works well, except must subtract 2mpg. My guess is the problem here is with the OBD2 info, not the app. A lot of folks call the OEM instantaneous mpg display the lie-o-meter. I don't have that mpg display, but I can't help wonder if it's lieing by 2mpg.
Instantaneous mpg
Trip mpg
Couldn't make it work so I quit fooling with it.
Fuel remaining
Miles to fuel tank empty
The saga of the AppRadio2. I tried hard to make it work, but in the end, I exchanged it for a less cutting edge Pioneer double-din. The AppRadio2's iPod and Bluetooth connections's were glitchy and I never could make the cable connection to the Samsung Galaxy S3 work. I tried both the Pioneer cable and the Samsung cable. I think it's just not ready for prime time.
Is there a list somewhere of all the acronyms associated with the 99+ trucks?
Go to the Torque site and do some reading. OBD2 has lots of data streams. Each stream has it's unique PID, or something like that. There's one for coolant temp, one for oil temp, etc.

OK, Thanks for the info, but that doesn't answer the question.
So I looked it up.
PID is the Process Identification number. I could be wrong since I'm not a programming expert, but the Torque App files likely have a .pid extension. Not that it matters- I just want to plug it in and have it work!

I have a 2001 7.3L
Any thoughts?
Thanks, no I'm not getting a kickback, I made them and decided to share with the class just for the greater good....Just pay it forward.
I'm not sure about your truck, I think on one of these pages they solved the 7.3L coolant temp issue. I have no way to test.
I have been working on a couple more but they are not as fun and as important as the rest.
I will post them up when I get the bugs worked out.
Hi GreeceMonkey,
Thanks a ton for the Ouku video. I was gearing up to put a Samsung GT 2 7.0 in the dash like this... Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7inch tablet in 2006 G35 double din
...but I think I'm gonna go with the Ouku. I was hoping to find something like that, glad I stopped by today.
Jester,
I've been able to EGT's from the EGT_11 probe in Torque for a few months now. If you had anything to do with that I just wanna say thanks!
Great thread guys!
I have the torque app and the adaptor and I been playing with it for a while How do you pull out all this info from it I can only get the the simpe stuff the app gives me .. do you have to do any little hack to it or something specially for the misfires I can't find any data related to my vehicle and the misfires I have f250 1997 with 5.4 L gas
