Don't know what changed with my boost readings. They were acting weird. I'm trying to locate if I did something to change it, but it now works.

 

any idea what to change so it actually reads boost higher than 20 psi

Does anyone happen to have the settings for Android Torque for Cylinders 9 and 10?

I guessed 221616 for cylinder 9, but I'm not sure. 221617 doesn't work for 10.

I have a 2000 Ford E450 RV. It has the V10 in it.

 

I'm getting a a reading of 30.0 on the FPDC, is that normal?

 

Mine reads 100% all the time don't know if its right or not.

So I got the ELM 327 and the torque app. Originally, the EOT readout only read 32 degrees. Then I put in a new equation and it read over 300 degrees. I finally put in the correct equation (it's amazing what a + sign will do when it is supposed to be a - sign).

It looked like it was reading OK, but I was getting very high EOT-ECT deltas - like 20 - 25 degrees. Anyway, last week, I took the truck to the Ford dealer and had them check it out.

I travel for work almost every week - and I hadn't heard from the dealership, so I called them. Thank goodness for extended warranties - the oil cooler was plugged, so they are replacing the oil cooler and EGR cooler under warranty.

So I am feeling like I dodged a bullet thanks to the ELM and the Torque app. When I say I travel for business, I mostly drive and usually take the truck. Many of the plants I call on are way out in the boonies. I do not relish the thought of my truck dying 60 miles from the nearest town when it is 110 degrees outside. That would not be a fun situation.

 

I picked the truck up from the dealer today. My SA said the truck was pretty close to grenading. The EGR cooler was leaking exhaust gas into the coolant loop, and had split the degas bottle. The coolant temps and oil temps were running high. The next symptom would have been the check engine light and a truck stopped by the side of the road - blown head gaskets.

Needless to say, the $40 I spent on the ELM and the Torque app was well worth it. The thought of being stopped by the side of the road out in the middle of nowhere with no cell phone service is not pleasant. And I would not have known about the problem until the truck grenaded without the ELM, etc.

 

More proof how much we need to monitor our motors.

By using this app I just found out my FICM is gone to sh**! I'm glad I got those extra PID's because I was going to replace the HPOP. Saved me a lotta green!
