I prefer OE style shocks (charged/pressurized.) The RS9000 I tried were not, just dampened by valves and fluid flow. SO, I personally like Blisten shocks, proven, gas charged, made my truck ride like a factory 03'. My e99 always rode like a war wagon, but now it has manners.
I put Rancho 5000 on my truck. They are holding up well but seem to made the allready harsh ride worse. In past years i used explore pro comp 3000 on my old Ranger 4x4 and was happy with those. Joe
Bilsteins are the like of the majority here, having said that I have ruptured the seals on 2 different bilsteins on my '79. Installed doestch tech and am loving them. Thinking of these when I have to replace my super duty shocks. I might add my '79 sees more off road than most of our trucks.
I have Monres on my e99 cc lb 4x4 and hate them. stiff in the back and fronts ride like the worn out ones. Blisteins is where I should of went, seem most on here love them. Haven't heard of Doestch tech, hows the price and warrinty. Chet
I put Monroe Reflex on mine & I think they are good but too stiff to suit me. They would probably be just right on a 4x4 but just a little to stiff for me. BTW I had 175k on the originals so any new shock was gonna feel diff to me...lol
I have bilstiens on my 2000 x and rancho 9000xls on the 02 and 05, I like the bilstiens when towing but stiff if the truck is empty. I will be putting 9000's on the 2000 X when I change next time.
