Replacement Steering Stabilizer Shock?

My 2003 F250 came stock with a steering stabilizer shock. I have 62K miles on my truck.

How long does the stock steering stabilizer shock last before needing to be replaced?

I'm getting ready to replace my four shocks with Bilstein HD shocks but they do not offer a steering stabilizer shock. What steering stabilizer shock is recommended for replacement?

bilstein does make a steering damper. part # is F2-BE5-F884-H0 This part # is for 4x4 f-250 and 350. i believe 2wd has different part number. by the way the stock ones are junk to begin with in my opinion!!

Any of the popular aftermarket stabilizers are a far cry above the stock unit.

Thanks a lot Mudslinger21. I didn't see it on their website. I have a 4X4 so I'll be ordering their F4-BE5-F884-H0.

Thanks again,
Mark

Some of us are not fortunate to have a truck with a stabilizer.

I called Bilstein to find out if any retailer had these in stock and found out they are just getting in to steering stabilizer shocks and they will not be released until late summer. Are there any other decent, stock replacement steering stabilizer shocks out there?

I bought a ProComp replacement for my stock brackets. It was definitely an improvement and I've been happy with.

I didn't have one on my 03 F-250. Monday I went by a ford dealership and bought the bracket and hardware for the drag link. On the passenger side you should have a spot for the other end to mount. Then yesterday I went to my local auto parts store and picked up a cheap Monroe one for now. Installed it last night in about 15 minutes. The difference even with that Monroe one, going from nothing was a huge difference. I wish I had done it sooner.
