Thumbs up BTS appointment is set

I finally made an appointment with BTS
Almost a year ago I blew my original trans at around 240k, after a "local" rebuild, two months down, three transmissions, and $2500 I was back on the road with what I believe is just a spray painted junkyard trans.

Anyhow..., this trans has a little slip in OD, and I'm able to make it shudder in first and second if I pour too much coal to her with a load behind me.

This time I refuse to let some local shop give me the run around. I called Brian today and set my date for aug 4th.

I think Jason (skyskijason) worded it best when he said "its the ultimate peace of mind"

Now I just have to wait two long months...

Any chance of getting something from the transmission rebuilder for warranty? You went through hell with that ordeal and should get something for the short life of the rebuild. Is Brian going to rebuild the one you have or build you a different one?

And I have an appointment for Aug. 5th. The Florida boys are going to have a two day transmission party. I imagine that there might be a cold one or two consumed in celebration. Hmmmm, I wonder if they have enough beer in Lead Hill........

"that guy" said he wont warrenty my trans because I "opened the case" by installing a JWVB....Plus I believe hes doing 5 yrs in county lockup.
I dont want him near my truck anyhow.

Brian is going to rebuild mine. I dont think there are too many parts he reuses other than the case?
I'm meeting Kent (sheldon plankton) there also, his truck goes under the knife on the day after mine. I'm curious to compare the wear on our transmissions. He has 230+ on his original, and Mine "allegedly" has just under 20k. We'll see...

There you are Kent....we posted at the same time.

If you have a camper, there is a Corp of Engineers Campground about two miles from Brians shop. Great place to camp and there is a boat dock/ramp where you can put in on there if you like to fish.

Congrats on both of your new trannies.

You may want to watch that lovily lady behind the desk......... (the wife thought that I was watching to closily) There was a stray puppy running around there and she tried to give it to one of my kids as a 'parting gift' for coming in....

Congratulations!! You're going to love it. The only problem with BTS is once you have one then the real expensive mods start

Woooooohooooo!! If I'm still here in Tulsa (very likely) I'll try to come visit ya in Lead Hill. Im gonna try to get over there before then and do some skiing on that lake Brian likes so much.

I need the right shift plate for these tires, it shifts too hard compared to the 325/60/18's that were on it whem Brian built my trans. He told me it would do that when i told him i was going back to 285's - but i thought id like it. Not! Its like bass - a little extra is ok for some songs, but its kinda annoying 'all the time'...

August 4th = Frank's final chapter on his tranny story.

Congrats. You will finally put this saga behind you.

That was my original plan, but I'll be leaving my camper in Texas, Brians wife recommended a hotel for us. And do you mean Tina? she sounds cute on the phone...

This is the last expensive mod for a while. I'll be boat shopping when I get back to Fl, and my Jack Russells want a bigger camper.

Great to hear Frank, Hopefully it works great for you for years to come. FYI, I believe Lead Hill is in a Dry county, if you were looking to purchase alcohol, I'm only about 1 1/2 hours away from Lead Hill and would love to meet all of you, maybe we'll have to have a trans building GTG, I know Jason has seen them, but I'd love to watch for when my day comes.
