That's awesome Frank....congrats. Is your old transmission guy really in jail? I know your are going to go visit him...lol..
That was the rumor I heard, A friend of his told me the swat team took him down one day at his shop, and that he was facing 5 years....I sure picked a great shop
And I have an appointment for Aug. 5th. The Florida boys are going to have a two day transmission party. I imagine that there might be a cold one or two consumed in celebration. Hmmmm, I wonder if they have enough beer in Lead Hill........
Congratulations!! Now, to hi-jack this thread...
Does the water tower still say DC Business Center and have a kumquat branch in the center?? I painted that sign! Actually, I either inspected or painted 100's of water towers all over Fla...
Jason you better get the rest of your mods done before you go see brian again do he can tweek your tunes just right
THAT's the plan!! Man, I can't believe there's nobody around Tulsa/OKC area that wants to GTG... I may be doing it all in front of the camper this weekend (hope I don't get thrown out of another park!). Either way, Monday morning it will be a different truck!!
I guess I'll dig up that GTG thread and bring it to the top for one last chance...
"that guy" said he wont warrenty my trans because I "opened the case" by installing a JWVB....
Plus I believe hes doing 5 yrs in county lockup.
I'm curious to compare the wear on our transmissions. He has 230+ on his original, and Mine "allegedly" has just under 20k. We'll see...
It is kinda dicey once you open it, to be honest. GM tried to refuse my rebuild because I used an aftermarket filter that allegedly came off and caused fluid starvation. According to Magnusson-Moss, they cannot fault you for using a different brand of filter. HOWEVER, if that filter causes trouble, which is what they can say with a simple statement from the mechanic that he saw the filter had fallen off the trans into the pan, they can.
For what? In any case, maybe they have a shop there where convicts can learn a trade? Might be like the local tech colleges where they fix your car for parts and get experience?
230K is probably showing less wear than 100 miles of burnouts so since we don't know what your trans had in the first place, well, it's hard to say.
That was my original plan, but I'll be leaving my camper in Texas, Brians wife recommended a hotel for us. And do you mean Tina? she sounds cute on the phone...
She is. You might bring a couple packs of cards, hide your GPS and ask Tina to show you to the motel with a stop by the liquor store. After all, it is quite hard to get around there if you don't know your way. As they say Liquor up front, Poker in the rear. Something to pass the time at night.
Yep, thats my sign Kent! I actually painted it 4 times... The first time we did it (once on each side of the tank), they decided it was too small and paid me to do it again - bigger. I used a good friend to help me do that one, we had a great time! I'm stoked it still looks so good. Seriously, thanks for the pic!!!
Frank, call someone and tell them to close that damn manway!! The birds are making a NASTY, NASTY mess in there. Its not where the water is, but its still gross and unnecessary! I did not paint that tank, but I have been inside all the Bradenton tanks...
Another nice sign I painted is on the USF tank in Tampa and I was the inspector the last time the Strawberry tank in Plant City got painted. Those are a couple tanks lots of people have seen!
