On the rears, the high pass filters are mounted on a board on the rear speakers, and a separate connector goes from that board to the factory tweeters.
I removed the filters and wiring, and spliced that wiring into the speaker adapters I used to connect to the Ford connectors.
It will make sense when you see it. I just taped the filters to the speaker wires, after soldering the splice.
That is the way I connected the rears on mine also!
No 6x9, but 6x8 or 5x8 have the same bolt pattern. All four cab speakers are the same size.
If you have the tweeters in the doors, they are just under an inch, 7/8 I think. I replaced with 1" tweeters and all I had to do was some trimming with my pocket knife. No worries. The mount hardware that was included with my Polk speakers is perfect and everything appears to be factory.
I ordered up two pair of Infinity 682.9cf's from Amazon for $136 delivered. I wanted to order from Crutchfield but they were more than twice that price - $160 per pair!
They're scheduled to be delivered tomorrow - hopefully I'll have a good report tomorrow evening.
I purchased the infinity reference 6832 off of ebay for i think it was 50 bucks new for two. they messed up and sent me 4, put them all in the truck. sounds better than stock.

That's a smokin' deal!
I just ordered 2 sets of JL C5-570's. They're supposed to be here tomorrow. I'm also running new speaker wire, which should be interesting since there's no pass-thru in the doors, it's a male/female clip connection... Thanks Ford, another easy task that's no longer easy.
