I guy I work with took his K&N air filter off his chevy and put a stock one back one and got more power ran better and the same thing with his van and better fuel milage. I took mine off to see what would happen and i have seen a major jump in fuel milage is it jsut too much air for the computer and it re adjusts its self? Now the chev deisel at work benifits from it but my 300 six did not any other people find same thing or not?

 

Sounds like you just needed to clean the K&N - mine works great and gave me a noticeable boost in power & mileage.

this type of filter is not helpful on a massair motor
the oil will cover the hot wire and the meter
reading is wrong !

 

K&N made a noticible difference for me. Much snappier throttle response, better acceleration, and mileage

 

The K&N filter element did absolutely nothing whatsoever to improve performance or gas milage.

It did lighten my wallet by $42!

 

This might make a difference, I'm running an open element air cleaner housing

 

K&N didnt make any diference on my luv either, im running race filters thast make for hondas on my luv. Now those things work, but i think they are illegal you can blow lightly and feel it on the inside of the filter. They flow like nobodys business!
