well first why is there 2 fuel filters 2 mine has 1 missing the one next to the oil filter and the plastic thing inside it that the filter sits on is broken will it hurt it to run it and were do you get a new water seperater or whatever that thing is that goes into the actual housing
the one that is broke is the small one on top? the water separater is the lower one on the frame
put the filter in first then tighten the cap. I know they say snap it into the cap then tighten but that didnt feel right.
those guts to that filter will probably be a dealer item only
The most efficient way to remove water, large particulates, and small particulates is with two filters. It will also offer protection if the primary filter fails in any way. It is done to protect the injectors. If you run your truck w/ only the primary filter you will vastly increase the chance of ruining injectors.
ya the internals in the housing broke with the torx bits ik its replacible but i cant find it. if i place the filter in without that its doing nothing correct??? or will it still help
You lost me....Can you clarify what is broken??? I would not run truck with only one filter as bismic stated!!!!
Ford67 is referring to the secondary fuel filter standpipe inside the housing, by the sounds of things. And yes, you can add me to the list to advise you not to drive (or even so much as run the engine for another minute) before getting this fixed.
