I have what looks like a stock rad to cool my 300i6 and its about shot and engine gets warmer on the interstate than around town + its leaking a bit so i think its time....1800radiator sais they show 1 rad for that engine at a whopping $350!! Someone posted a nice rad on the dentside forum, but its for a v8, so the top/bottom hoses are not in the right places....
tell them you don't want the copper one, get the aluminum like stock, 4 row, from autozone for $150. I just bought one. 2 row is less than $100, but if you have a/c , not a good idea
LOL i wouldnt know what a/c is anyway, but since i live in a horrible town called Birmingham, Al i'd go for at least 3 rows, lol!
Thanks all for the posts so far, ill check summit and AZ and recoring.

Griffin radiator is located in South Carolina they make some nice rads and you wouldn't have to have it shipped clear across the country. The story I got is that aluminum is twice as good at dissipating heat so a two core aluminum is as good as a 4 core brass one.

Aluminum and brass/copper are very similar in their cooling properties. The big difference is that one "core" of a brass/copper radiator is 1/2" wide, while one "core" of an aluminum radiator will be from 7/8" to to 1-1/4" wide, depending on the radiator.

There is the answer you are looking for. I know that Summit Racing also sells after market aluminum rads, cross flows, for around $200.

This is from Griffin's faq: Do aluminum radiators cool better than copper brass radiators ?
"An aluminum radiator does cool better than a copper brass radiator. For example, an aluminum radiator with 2 rows of 1" tubes is equivalent to a copper brass radiator with 5 rows of 1/2" tubes. Aluminum provides high efficiency, is lightweight, and has a longer life compared to copper brass." Doing the math it's about what you said but hey they sell aluminum radiators right, Thanks for the info
The best prices i found so far for a downflow copper/brass rad. are $159 for a 2 row (CU394) and $194 for a 3 row (CU318) At Autozone. The 318 has a trans cooler i wouldnt need but the pic shows the Inlet on the pass. side :/ Maybe the pic is wrong...
All the Alum crossflow rads are just way too expensive...Radiator | 1979 Ford F100 1/2 ton P/U 2WD 6 Cylinders B 4.9L 1BL OHV | AutoZone.com
