Cleaned up the garden this weekend, power washed it and put it back together, planted some new plants, but it will be a few weeks before I can start picking off of them. The wife is in a cleaning and purge mood, she really has been working away cleaning the house, and all that watching her work has been wearing me out.
I finally got all of the adapters in needed in order to reach the end of the dryer vent tube behind the dryer from the extension at the deck. I was able to get nearly 3 gallons or so of lent out of the tubing. Julie said the dryer seems to work better, but I still need to pull the dryer out and clean the tube going behind it down to the main vent.
I've been trying to practice guitar about 5 minutes to 1 hour per day. My finger tips are starting to get harder, which is good, but I still have a long way to go on learning.
I bought the guitar for 55 bucks and then bought a bunch of accessories on Saturday, doubling the price of the guitar. Yay Me!
Been working pretty hard on the lawn here and there the past month. The front lawn is great, side lawns are alright, backyard is.....ugh.
A few weekends back I rented my neighbor's aerator and power seeder and put both of those to use on the whole lawn. Took me several hours to get both the machines ran through and then I finished with some new lawn fertilizer. It's really cool seeing all the green seedlings pop up and cover the lawn already, can't wait to see what they grow to next spring.
The backyard is still in shambles though. We intensively reseeded where our above ground garden was removed, where we previously had a huge outdoor toy, where it floods during heavy rain (filled in with more dirt first), and where the kids and dog seem to focus their foot traffic and kill the grass.
I've got a loooong way to go, but it's actually starting to fill in and look nice
I gave up on our lawn until our neighbors start caring about theirs. They mow it, because its 6 inches high, but I don't think there is any grass in their lawn anymore. I think its all weeds.
Yikes, sounds like theirs is pretty bad! We have a couple people in our neighborhood that completely ignore theirs and let it go to crap, but for the most part everyone works at having a presentable lawn.

I one new a landscaper for a college-- the lawn always looked great-- I asked him about it-- he said he put sidewalks where ever a path was made-- and people would use it and not trample the grass-- He had some sidewalks in weird places but it really worked for him.

Hey, that's genius! I'll have to put some thought into walking paths for the high-traffic areas.
We'd really like to put down some rubber mulch for the daycare area but that stuff is $$$$ and it has to be a certain depth to pass her state inspection. I think it'll be cheaper\easier to just keep the grass alive, lol.
Yes we put it in at Calistas school and it had to be deep-- and it all had to be that deep-- not shallow in some spots and deeper in others-- then the kids move it- and you have to rake it or move it to make it level again- or you get dinged--- and after awhile the stuff gets compacted-- so you have to add more.
Hauled home an 08' Fleetwood Sedona pop-up camper last night from Lindsborg as our new "project". It's in great shape and all the major mechanical items seem to be in working condition, a few outstanding items are to test the fridge, test the heater, and to rewire the trailer plug. Our intention is to use it as lodging on our summer vacation next year to visit the Arches NP, Yosemite NP, Sequoia NP, and Grand Canyon NP. Already upgraded the interior lights to LED using some extra bulbs from the last pop-up, planning on replacing all the trailer light bulbs with LEDs too.
Not sure if we'll sell this one when we get back next summer or keep it. It's probably on nicest out of the 6 pop-ups we've owned, but we should also be able to nearly double our money on it too. Guess we'll cross that bridge when it gets here, lol.
Last weekend we also winterized the big camper and put it away for the year. Vacuumed all the carpet, scrubbed the floors\walls, and even fixed some trim items that had been broken since we bought it. It's like brand new again, just in time to ignore it for 6 months :|
Wow Justin, its ok to admit you have an addiction, that is the first step. LOL!!!
I took the camper out this weekend and camped in it, I replaced the fender that got broken when the tire blew. Julie recovered the floral wall paper in the bathroom, which looks good. I intended to work on the sewer drains and valves, but that is going to have to be a longer project than just a day. Its a 3 or 4 season camper, so it has lots of covers and insulation around the tanks and valves, and all of those covers and insulation will have to be removed which is going to be a dusty, itchy, dirty job. One that a week or so in the driveway may be required for. I set up the mice traps for the winter, winterized the water lines and removed the battery. I hope to get to use it before 6 months is up, but.. its ready for the long haul until the spring comes if need be. I won't be able to use it before Dec, as we only have one weekend left that is free before that weekend, and it looks like I am going to be replacing motor mounts on Maddie's new to her car.
