Why does a spring/summer fire always smell different than one in the winter?
I think cause of moisture and over time it dries out. Plus all trees start sucking up water during the Spring and Summer months and the resin/sap in them forms more.
Summer time is worst time for wildfires because the resins/sap inside them are flammable like.

Yeah, but I cut this wood over a year ago. It's probably partially psychological and partially the difference in ambient temperature and humidity.
Here is an old mystery - a friend of mine collects (among other things) old wooden boxes.
This one came with a set of tools - very old and strange ones
What could these possibly be?
The metal plate on the front of the tool chest says "Black & Decker"
*These are some very old attachments that were on a post that is now fungus enshrouded

Making scrambled eggs the way great grandma did, iron skillet and all.

DANGER WILL ROBINSON!!!
I have had at least TWO of my prized cast iron collection pieces literally EXPLODE into pieces because they were being used on an electric range...
Electric burners can cause hot spots that fracture the cast iron by uneven heating (expansion)
I NEVER EVER use cast on an electric burner anymore - only open flame burners or on wood fires.
Yer not the only one GreyWolf. I wonder what is up with that? I burn mine out on a camp fire and re-season them several times a year and use them daily. BUT NEVER on an electric range.
Okay - I've been mining my old attachments to see what's back there.
At the edge of the "Big River" one year, during flooding
The AMAZING Bullfrog.... (and "Operator Support Cart")
What the Country Gentlemen drive around in on Sunday afternoons...
Slightly more aggressive tire tread. (just slightly)
