My wife and I were married in Nashville and spent our wedding night at the Opryland Hotel. We got married just a mile or so from there and rode a white, horse-drawn carriage up to the front doors of the hotel. It was supposed to be an enclosed carriage, but we were married on January 1, the carriage was used for partiers the night before, and the mess hadn't been cleaned up pushing us into an open carriage. It was cold with a steady drizzle. Nothing was going on at the hotel, so my wife and I, wet, cold, and in an open horse-drawn carriage were the show. By the time we got to the doors a small crowd had gathered, wondering what was going on. I still don't know if they were disappointed at the lack of celebrity or happy for us!
