front end jumping in a turn.

ok i got a D60 in my f250. when the hubs are locked in, weather its in 4 or 2 wheel drive, if you make a tightish turn it feals like the axle shafts are binding in the front axle and the front end kinda jumps. any suggestions? is it just the u joint yokes binding in the turn? or some other problem

Normal bind. In a turn the outside tire is rolling faster than the inside one. Tighter the turn, the greater the delta.

in 2wd it shouldn't be doing this though.
check the locking hub assembly to insure they are disengaging.

It's much more noticeable if the front diff is any kind of locker or limited slip. Check the universal joints too, though. If there's any rust around the seals, they are on their way out and should be replaced. If they come apart on their own, typically you will need new axle shafts too.

When I first got my F350 with Dana 60 front axle I thought the same thing.... that something was wrong with it. Couldn't make a turn in 4WD. They definitely have an aggressive limit to the amount of slip in those axles. (At least in my example, and apparently yours too). My 81 F250 with TTB will bind and jump a little, but only on very hard surface at full turn. The Dana 60 is an awesome axle, and the 4x4 capabilities continue to amaze me, even after I think I've seen it all. The binding is a bit annoying if you are driving on alternating soft then hard surfaces and needing to make tight turns, but the benefits are tremendous. Way more jumping than most 4x4 trucks, but way less slipping and digging yourself into a mud and snow rut when it really counts
