You'd have to...I know where it is

OK...we'll split fuel. I'll let you pay half if you'll pay the other 50%.

Good morning everybody. Hoping for a good day today. Kind of bitter about breaking my battery still.

Well it just got postponed again. I'm going back to work tomorrow. I can't ever get a chance to work on my own stuff. I just need to replace the terminal and battery to at least be able to move it.

How long does it take to replace a battery? An hour, tops? And that counts the time going to get another one.

Get on it, man...it'll be done in no time!

I'm in LA, I brought my mom to work and am helping her. She gets priority. I'm picking one up on the way home and I need to replace the terminal that is stuck to the battery. Hopefully doesn't take an hr. If it does I need to donate my tools to someone that knows what they are doing.

A dedicated battery terminal puller will pop that chunk of lead right out of there, and will be cheaper than a new cable.

And you'll have it for next time a terminal is stuck to a cable. You won't break another, either.

Cut off the cable at the terminal. Battery guy said he'd give me $10 for the core. Done in 30 minutes with a lot of cusing at that thick wire.

Did he first charge you for the core, then add tax to that amount, then refund just the core amount?

That's what they did twice to me at Costco in September or October! Their core charge is $9, so I paid tax on $18 that I don't believe I should have.

Get a refund on you $1.80, that's stealling. No he charges the core seperate. He took my broken battery as a core. So $45 for a battery 1yr warranty.

Yeah, that ain't right. I think it is SOP to charge sales tax on the core, because if you don't bring it back it is a sale. But the mistake is in not adding tax to your refund.

If I had to guess, I'd say the Board of Equalization has directed Costco to calculate it that way.

They probably don't have a choice in the matter.
