Yup it was good times. Is there much snow in your area Colin? I've never sledded in that area b4, perhaps I should take a trip...

I have got different reports, some say it is good others say it is still a little thin. I hope to find out for myself on saturday or sunday. Just looking at the fields I it looks like good riding conditions to me. We've had more snow so far this winter then we did all of last winter so I have a hard time believing there isn't enough snow for sledding. A get together would be great, we can go just about anywhere we want around here and there is a creek near by so if you like doing jumps and such, there are so good spots around here. And the danger of hitting a tree around here is quite slim. lol

We'll have to plan a saturday after the festivities are over, especially xmas. I'm hoping to get up to Madge lake on monday for some more riding, hopefully a full day's worth. There's a lot of sweet places to go up there, a guy just needs the time to go find them.

I don't mind jumping, but I prefer carving in the deep stuff and climbing. I know, I know, SK's not the best place for a guy who loves to climb...

A can would be nice on there. I was looking at SnoStuff rumble pack but got mixed reviews on durability. So still keeping my eyes open.

Yes I too had a little chill, body was good but fingers were a little tingly. My thumbwarmer wasn't cutting it. Definitely up for another ride. We may be away until the new year but if I'm around I'll get in touch with you to go out.

I should have switched off with you on the way back... Was starting to get a chill and could have used the protection of the bigger machine!!

We'll have to do another ride soon!! Perhaps before the new year!!

you musn't have done much back-country hill/powder climbing if you think its boring, but like you say, to each their own. Put me on a nice hill with some mature trees spaced 8-10' apart, with some deep powder, and I've passed on into Heaven. Trails have their place, but I like to use them to get to the good stuff. Fields are ok, long as they're deep for some carving action, and lots of drifts around the edges for pouncing and pillowing.

I was torn between MBRP and SLP, then someone told me Bender had some real good quality and good sounding stuff. Both MBRP and SLP have cans for my sled, I contacted MBRP today and got a part number and put in an order @ Schraders. Technically they say my warranty will be void, but I think thats a crock to say that a silencer will make enough difference in flow to cause a problem. For what its worth, I'll be keeping my stock can anyway, just in case something happens. I'm not looking for more performance, I'd just like a little more BRRAAAAPPP

I found my thumb getting real cold also so I tried varying the thumb position on the throttle, eventually finding a comfortable spot. The hand warmers work well. I think we stood too long @ Good Spirit BS'n and got chill'd there... next time we keep riding unless there's a coffee spot

You have my cell #, always give me a call or text if you're heading out and want company!! I'll always try to make time if its convenient with family matters!!!

If the Bender turns out to be nice for I will look into one too. Definitely a warmer place to chat next time too, unfortunate they closed by time we got there. Feel free to give me a shout too.

I actually went with the MBRP, it's a hundred bucks less than the Bender, also Bender didn't have a listing for my sled. MBRP is very popular with the ski-doo guys. My cousin back east has a '09 RMK dragon with a SLP. It sounds nice, but not quite as deep as the MBRP's I've heard.

We may go out tonight, I'm picking up the Phazer today and the wife will be anxious to ride it. If you guys can get a babysitter some time, you and your wife will have to come for a ride with us also!!

When we go again, we should shoot to leave a bit earlier. There's quite a few trails around the good spirit area and a couple warm up shacks if I remember correctly.

Have fun tonight! Yeah I would rather go out in the early day and spend some time out there. We were talking today about doing an overnight trip to Hudson Bay and area, just talk so far but something I wanted to do for a couple years now. I'll let you know to "book" some time if you like to come too.

Where did you get the MBRP from and what was it worth if you don't mind me asking?

We didn't go riding tonight, my wife had a get together planned with her friends An overnight trip to HB would be awesome! I talked to one of the schrader guys who've been up to madge just lately sledding, he told me to go towards the town of Pelly, thats where they found some awesome hills and powder. I'm still hoping for monday to get riding up there.

The MBRP will be 300, or there about. An online vender Rocky Mountain Snowmobile had them for 239(usd), but then I'd have to get it shipped. Likely end up being very similar cost in the end.

If you like your MBRP I may look at getting one too. The Pelly/Norquay area sure has some nice scenery.

I'm hoping I like it Its a "trail" series can, I don't know if you know the sound of them much, but there's the trail, race, and another name I can't remember, but the race is loudest I think and the trail is the moderate one. I think we're going ahead with a norquay/pelly ride on monday, might even leave right from home here.

First thoughts on the "new" Phazer aren't good. The shop had to change a bearing on the jackshaft/driveshaft when they were changing out the track. It was "questionable" they said. We get it home, I take it out of the truck this morning, let it warm up, take it for a leisurely ride, then take my little girl for a ride, then the wife takes it. When she comes back it begins blinking lights on the dash pod and beeping, throwing a code. Call the shop (service is phenomenal there) and they diagnose it as a reverse gear position sensor. No harm in driving it, but it should be fixed. We went for a 80km ride and it was fine. No codes, blinking lights or anything. Reverse worked fine. Get back home and go to put toys away, 3pt turn to get it in the shop and it starts acting up again. I fool with it a bit, driving it around trying different methods of stopping/starting, shutting it off, starting it up... Now we got no idiot lights, beeping or codes, but the reverse is gone altogether... Wahoo. I love buying used stuff...

You never know what you get with used but Yamaha usually builds a very good product. To bad it has to be the first ride out that it starts acting up.

Enjoy your ride to Pelly.
