Its the EBPV it closes to help warm the truck up on cold days. You can unplug it. Theres a grey plug you can undo. Ill try to find a picture

Thanks I will look for it. Is it worth replacing or just leave it unplugged?

Its a flap inside the turbo that closes...People either unplug them or "gut" them. Im on my second truck and i just unplug them. Doesnt hurt anything.

What your hearing is the valve doing it's job, it closes when it's cold out to help warm the engine faster.

I like how fast my truck warms up with that valve on (working properly).

I may put a switch in the dash to turn it off when I start to drive to work in the morning, because sometimes it doesn't stay open and makes for an annoying drive to work.

But other then that, I'm keeping mine. I like it.

I agree, thats why I'm going to wire in a small switch on the dash to shut it off when I start to drive to work.

It's really easy to wire and totally worth it. Just look up EBPV brake or exhaust brake; there's infinite threads with instructions about it. Great mod IMO.
