On the cable where it connects to the gauge, you'll see a white plastic cover. The cover is round except for one part where it's raised to form a plastic tang. Press on the end of the tang while pulling the cable and it should come right off. Doing this unlatches the cable from the gauge.
After doing this a couple times, you'll get pretty quick at getting things apart and back together....I took my cluster in and out probably 10-15 times when I first got my tach cluster, and now I can have that sucker out in 10 minutes or less. lol
