I haven't actually pulled a relay in my new truck, but a simple relay you buy at the autoparts store has 4 terminals. 12v in, a ground in and and 2 terminals to the accessory or device you wish to control. Use an continuity meter and check for continuity between the last 2 terminals I mentioned. Then apply 12v and a ground, re check the other 2 terminals and this reading should be opposite of the first ohm reading.
Option 2 find another like relay in the fuse box and switch the relays and see if the trouble follows the relay move.
Found my problem. The 7-pin connector in the truck had a bad pin at the brown wire. Taking the bad connector over to the Ford Dealer tomorrow and their giving me a new one. I'd rather change it myself than leaving it their for several hours when it can be done in 10 minutes. Thanks to all you Ford guru's for helping. I would have never know what to look for. Owe you guy's big time. Got a keg in the barn waiting to be opened. Thanks

I've been trying to figure this thing out all day. When I said no lights, that meant no exterior lights on RV as though theirs no power to the trailer. I hooked up my wife's Tahoe to it and all worked great. I pulled the Ford factory receptacle out and checked the wires, looked good, although they were different colored wires from normal RV trailer wires. Checked all the truck fuses and their good. It appears to be grounded good. Don't know what else to do. Does anyone have the factory prep package with the Ford wiring and did you have any problems? This frustration is driving me nuts. I'd pay good money for someone to come over relieve me of this problem, need to hit the road in a couple of days. Many many thanks.
mine worked good the first time I plugged it in. Did not have to do a thing. Mayne man
