I like the ones in his pic also..except i wiped out on lce once in my driveway, and my foot got hung up in the step lmao!!! Cant believe i didnt snap my leg!
ok so sat is my 31 birthday and old lady asked what i wanted, i was thinking bout asking for my clutch, or injectors or what not, she said you need some steps on that thing? so what you all think running boards from front 2 back, stainless or nerf bars??? thanks guys
To each his own. Running boards "new" are great but crack over time (figerglass ones) and are not as secure as nurf bars, secured to the frame. Ladies like running boards because of better footing ...
Looks good but fiberglass cracked and dented from previous owner ...
Nerf bars .. I like them. More clearance from ground to step .. wife hates them because it's much harder for her to get into truck. For Christmas she gets grap handles on her side of the truck.

I can't see the pics at work but yeah my fiberglass running boards are cracking. The lady and boy love them though. He thinks they're steps into a flippin monster truck.
Man I wish I could figure out how to get something for my truck as HER Christmas present!

I may try that one Mike! I've already tried: a chip so I can save money on fuel to buy her more stuff and 40/20/40 seats so she can recline on trips and have a place to put her beer. That's a no go so far. Well, at least not for HER present...
When I went looking last year, they were one of the few fabricators that still made anything for the OBS trucks.
Only issue with them, according to "the man" at N-FAB, is the frame is 'soft' and has more side-to-side flex (or twist) than the newer trucks. The n-fab bars install fairly tight to the bottom edge of the body (to protect it from stones, etc). On mine, the front end of the bed kisses the tops of the bars when going over uneven terrain.
The suggested fix was to add a couple flat washers before bolting them up. If you do that, I'd suggest drilling the 'vertical holes', bolting the bars up, then drilling the 'horizontal' holes thru the ribs.
With my truck, and 20/20 hindsight, I would have been better off cutting six 1/4" thick spacers out of some scrap stock and then mounting the bars.
Functionally, they are great, especially if you use the front half of the bed much.
