Hood has been replaced. 1965/66 F100/250 2WD & 1966 F100 4WD have front fender emblems, not hood side emblems.

1966 F100 4WD chrome front fender emblems (R/L: C6TZ-16720-A) have FORD above, F100 below and plastic inserts reading: FOUR WHEEL DRIVE

C1TZ-16607-B .. Hood Front Emblem-Gear/Lightning bolt / Reproduced = 1961/64 F100/1100 / 1965/66 F100/1100 I-6.

C5TZ-16607-A .. V8 Hood Front Emblem / Reproduced = 1965/66 F100/1100 V8.

According to my Canadian "1965 Ford and Mercury Trucks Shop Manual", Paint Code "UP" decodes differently to what Bill has noted. Your truck was originally Tu-Tone in colour, Wimbledon White and Champagne Beige. Is it still?

I realize that from his books, he's correct that "U = Honey Gold" as a solid colour (we have had this discussion about 6 years ago), but I don't believe it's correct for a Tu-Tone paint scheme.
The gentleman before me repainted it brown but there is left overs of the cream paint (under the headlights and whatnot) areally you saying it's a merc?

No, your truck is definately a '65 Ford. The paint codes that I provided apply to both Canadian Ford and Mercury Trucks, but just for 1965.

5677 = Domestic Special Order number, truck special ordered by the original purchaser, not "bought off the lot."

Note: There is no "rag joint" (steel/rubber steering coupler) on a 1966 F100 4WD.

The lower steering shaft and coupler assembly connects to the input shaft of the steering gearbox with a clamp and thru-bolt.

I know you say no rag joint used in 1966 4wd but the power steering someone added looks like the rag joint pictures I've seen. Here is a pic of the steering box and shaft couldn't get a good one (not enough light) of the other end

1976 was the first year that F100/250 4WD's used a rag joint.

1976/79 F100/250 4WD & 1979 F350 4WD: The lower steering shaft and coupler is a one piece assembly, the rag joint bolts to its flange, then connects to the input shaft of the steering gearbox.

1966 F100 4WD, 1967/75 F100/250 4WD: The lower steering shaft and coupler is composed of myriad parts including a u-joint.

The lower steering shaft and coupler connects to the input shaft of the steering gearbox with a clamp and thru bolt.

Here's a pic for 1976/77 F100/250 4WD with A/T. The rag joint is 3A525 .. The one piece lower steering shaft and coupler is 3B676.

There are other pics with M/T and for 1978/79 with A/T & M/T .. but will be similar to this pic.

I'm not sure, as your previous pics show that you do not likely have an original '65 4WD drivetrain. I would recommend starting a new thread on your truck and if you post a few more pics of your wheels, hubs etc., you'll get a faster response for sure.

I did a stock resto on my M-250 2WD, but many others on FTE have installed mid to late 70's Ford running gear under their Slicks!

F11 = F100 4WD

Y = 352 2V

R = San Jose CA Assembly Plant.

732909 = 1966.

The VIN doesn't tell you much, post the codes stamped on the Warranty Plate (or post a pic of it), it's riveted to the left door face below the latch.
