1966 VIN# decode Information
Realize, you'll get more OEM information on your truck if you post all the information stamped on your Warranty Data Plate - which should be located on the drivers' door.

FTE has had a VIN decoder for over 10 years, but it's not worth two cents.
Suggest you do what Barnie says, post the info here. The info will be decoded using the Ford truck parts catalog...the only correct source.
But, the VIN and Warranty Plate on vehicles of this vintage only have codes that decode to a few certain things. The VIN will not list all the parts that came on the vehicle and their specific part numbers.
That jazz didn't begin until the mid 1990's. On these vehicles, when the VIN is typed into Ford's computer system, all the part numbers for the entire vehicle with this specific VIN come up on the screen.
There are over 10,000 individual parts for the average vehicle, so the numbers are divided up into sections pertaining to fuel, engine, trans, body and etc etc etc.
miles on it and only needs minor work planning on making it my trailer puller and junk hauler.The vin is F35YK791410
F35 = F350.
Y = 352 2V
K = Kansas City MO Assembly Plant.
791410 = 1966, assembled December 1965.
72,000 miles is un-realistic for a 46 year old truck, especially for one that was used commercially. That's only about 1500 miles per year.
The odometers of trucks of this vintage read to 99,999.9 then return to ZERO!
Used car/truck dealers for many years were in-famous for engaging in the illegal practice of 'rolling back' odometers.
So, your truck could have 72,000, 172,000, 272,000 miles or who knows?
As I suggested to LDCF250, post the information off of the Warranty Data Plate (WDP). It should be located on the inside edge of the door, above the latch. The WDP information will provide you with more (but not all) information regarding what the truck was originally outfitted with than just with is determined from the VIN decoding. I didn't look it up, but I don't recall FoMoCo ever installing hydraulic dump beds on any '66 F350s. I'd bet the hydraulics and bed setup were installed by an aftermarket / outside provider, but which likely would have been arranged by the original selling dealer for the buyer.

thanks for the help on everything
sorry for the double post cant figure out how to delete it
This F350 has DRW. 1953/79 F350's with DRW were only sold as a Cab & Chassis, or with a factory installed Platform (flatbed), or Platform & Rack (stake bed).
But, if the purchaser so ordered, the F350 Cab & Chassis would have been sent out by FoMoCo to an outside bodymaker to have the dump bed (referred to as "back of cab equipment") installed.
If this occured, the DSO code on the Warranty Plate will have 6 numbers (instead of the usual 2). The last 4 numbers denote a Domestic Special Order.
If a problem occured with the 'DSO' back of cab equipment, the dealer would contact FoMoCo with the 6 numbered DSO code.
FoMoCo would look up the DSO codes last 4 numbers, tell the dealer where the parts could be purchased and what company installed the equipment.
This same DSO system is in use today.
Something else to consider: If in a rural area...where would the dealer/purchaser find a bodymaker to install the dump bed?

If you post your VIN gfpilot it too can be decoded...for painted over
Warranty plates, hot water will soften and make the paint soft and you can use a finger nail and get an area to get a bite on and lift it off...the plate itself will be the same as it was when it was painted over.
