FX4
Ok, My question is the decal on my truck says 4x4 offroad, but my truck has skid plates and Rancho shocks, so is this an FX4 package or no?

Did you by it used? If you purchased it New, it's not a FX4. If it's previously owned, the owner before you could have purchased the skid plates or shocks. It's also possible they removed the FX4 stickers and replaced them with the 4x4.

What year? I think the fx4 was something like 2003+ and the earlier trucks had off road packages just not called or stickered as a fx4. Knowing the year would help rule that out.

The truck is a 2009 cc 4x4 XL longbed with a V10. I bought it used with 30,000 mi.

The '08 XLT I just bought to rebuild is the same way. On the window sticker it lists:
4x4 OFF-ROAD PACKAGE $225
.SKID PLATES
So I guess the skid plates are an option without the FX4 package. Can't explain the Rancho shocks though, maybe the previous owner upgraded them also.

Well I replaced the Rancho's with Skyjacker nitro shocks.....much improved ride! Anyway it's an FX4 if I want it to be!

My truck is a '99 and "FX4" didn't exist yet and was still just called the off-road package. I have the skid plates and had the rancho shocks. I was planning on replacing my yellowed and cracked 4x4 Off Road stickers with FX4 stickers since it's the same thing. But I definitly don't like the newer FX4 stickers.

on a nice hot sunny day a finger nail and slow peel. That is all it took to take mine off. They come off pretty easy on my 07.

Beginning in 2008, the FX4 became a full trim level. It falls in between an XLT and a Lariat in terms of equipment.

Well, as luck would have it the triple digit heat is gone for a few months. I'll try the blowdryer!
