yeah the muscle relaxers they gave me work the best. better then the pain meds. but i've been dosing up on ibuprofen also.

i finally took a really hot shower that really helped loosen up the muscles. i finally feel somewhat human today.

and yes luckly i have about 4 other trucks i can drive. but i want my excursion

the excursion is stored at my house, so i walked all of 30ft lol yes i know everything i type can be used. i really dont think its going to get anywhere near a court case. i'm sure insurance will settle up and hopefully i wont have any long lasting effects of this event. but who knows.

i am calling my primary doctor tomorrow and getting in with her and getting checked out as she knows me better then the ER doc does.

Glad you are o.k., but from the sound of it you are going to notice the affects for some time to come. Be careful signing any release forms until you are sure you don't have any lingering problems. If I were you I would have a cat scan done on your head because it sounds like you took a pretty good knock. I will keep you in my prayers. Hope the X can be fixed.

OK let me throw my two cents in on the pursuit of medical cases.

You might not want to post anything about how you FEEL or how you are progressing physically on this site. Your insurance enemy WILL access this info and use it against you if it helps them.

Many insurance people read blogs and websites so they can trap you and find out that you are doing "Just Fine" and you dont have any issues...my lawyer said they arent even hiring private investigators much anymore, just searching the web!

Godspeed my friend! My advice? Talk all about your truck here and your health in private boards or with family.

BTW Massage therapy will help, but only doctor care will make a difference in your health case.

As someone mentioned before go see your doctor monthly at least and see a specialist(orthopedist) and a Physical Therapist too. This is the only way to be sure you will be ok and not second guess later or kick yourself for being foolishly rash.

i'm glad i had some money in the bank when this all happend. it cost me about $500 on friday for all the BS that had to be done. fingers crossed they get the guy out to look at the truck tomorrow so i know somthing!

Exclamation

Being an insurance agent and someone who has a herniated disc from being rear ended a few years ago- I want to echo what 2 other folks have said already about the claim process and insurance.... everything you say will be used against you!

I thought I could handle it myself at the beginning but the other company soon stopped responding to me and I was forced to get an attorney. It went as far as a deposition and then we settled. At the deposition the other attorney used my own words against me (at one point I had communicated that I started to feel better).

Don't give them any statements or allow them to record your phone conversations. Give it time for your body to shake out and see what your injuries are. I felt fine at the scene but ended up losing a lot of work time as my body progressed through the injury. You should probably delete this thread also. All it shows is that you are not in much pain and care more about your truck than yourself.

People have always said that charges being placed has nothing to do with who's at fault, and who pays. This of course is basically true.

But if the lady who ran into the Excursion wasn't charged, her insurance company will claim the cop shoppe did not find their driver at fault, hence no charges. They will not voluntarily pay for the Excursion or medical bills.

The insurance company will go one step further as well.... they will say they will pay for their driver's car and medical bills, and the insurance company of the Excursion driver can pay his damages and medical bills.

Insurance companies are not in the business to hand out free and easy money. They are in the business to take money in and keep as much of it as they can.

long day.

she was sited, i got the police report. "driver to use due care to avoid a collision"

the truck - so far the rough est is $7500, it was towed to a local body shop of my choice to be torn down to see if theres any underlying issues that would add to the price. once they figure this out they will decide if its a total loss or not. at this point it is not but that can change quickly.

i'm gonna lay back with an icepack now.

I was an Military Policeman in the Army, and the best 'excuse' I ever heard was by a woman we stopped for running a blinking red light. She said: "But officer, I'm sure I went through the intersection when the light was off!"
