Hospitalization, pain and suffering, totaled Excursion.

I think you'll end up with enough MONEY to buy a real nice Excursion.

(This is not to say you should settle too soon if the doctors find permanent damage of course.)

i just finally got home, after getting out of the ER i had to drop perscritions off. then go get my explorer registered so i could drive it in the mean time. i've been on the phone non-stop with insurance people....this has been a hard day!

they did some xrays and gave me pain meds/muscle relaxers and told me to take it easy for the weekend. if anything changes or gets worse to go back in.

i have to say USAA the other ladys insurance has been wonderful! they allready sent me a check for $250 which would have been for a rental car. but she said since i'm too young to do that it would be easier for them to give that to me which covered my registration/inspection for the explorer. they also are covering the towing bill...ect they have been good.

the truck after looking at it, with the frame damage and steering damage i would think its right on the edge of toatled or not i'm not sure. i do know the whole front end is cocked to the pass side. they will be coming out to my house and doing there EST on mon-wed so once i know more i'll post it.

i'm going to look at a '02 limited v10 tomorrow just for the hell of it i guess. it'll prolly be sold before i have a check...finding another Ex will suck i'm sure i did not wanna do through this again!

thanks for all the prayers and thoughts, its been a long long day i'm on the verge of a mental breakdown. i have not ate since dinner last night and have not laid down other then the hosptial bed all today. i'm just so sick thinking about the day.

my neck, shoulder, ribs/chest are what hurts. the doc told me if you think its bad now wait till tomorrow...i said thanks doc lol one other thing is i've kinda had a constant headache. i know my glasses ended up under the brake pedel so i'm not sure how much my head banged around.

i'm really out of sorts with the truck though. i've only had it like 2 1/2 months but i'd allready started to get an emotional attachment so its getting to me. i'm going to try and buy it back if i can work it all out money wise by the end of it.

if i'm feeling up to it i'm going to go look at this tomorrow. its got 140k new tranny..second owner with all maint records. i like the color.

Sorry to hear about the pain. And it sounds like the emotional pain of losing the truck is more than the physical pain. Hang in there man. Just think, by the end of this you will be the X king, already looking for a third one and not fully rid of the second one.
Hope things work out for the better.

i think the pills are helping the physical pain right now, but they say the next few days will be worse.

i dont know if i should be wanting it toatled or not. idk if they do i would like to keep it and fix it myself.

i need a good nights sleep i know that...hopfully tomorrow brings better things!

WOW sorry to hear this man. Glad your still here though, the pain will pass. Did the airbags go off? Body panel wise it looks minor but depending how bad the frame damage is will determine totaled or not. If it is just pushed over a little they can pull the frame back and it will be just fine. Lots of my vehicles like my wifes honda mini van were wrecked when I got them and fixed them. If done right you can not even tell it was ever wrecked. However there are vehicles that are never "right" after a rebuild. Even with a proper alignment and all they act funny going down the road or feel loose.

It would be safe to say your X would come out just fine if it were fixed but that is up to the insurance company. If it is cheap enough after being deemed totaled I would for sure buy it back! Especially if you are getting another X. You could still use it as a plow truck around the home or for just parts.

no my airbags did NOT go off. but thats what i'm wondering about. body wise its ok..the hood, and fenders seem ok. tweeked because of the frame but when removed may go back into place. it would need to go on a frame machine. get that fixed then replace the core support because its bent. it also sheered off some bolts on the left front spring hanger which may or may not be why the steering wheel is off center so bad.

so it all depends on what they decide my Ex is worth, then the cost of frame shop time, possible frontend work(tie rods, spring..ect) plus man hours to replace the core support, header panal, radiator, fan, tranny cooler. then ontop of it figure out the gas gauge issue. it now reads full, when right before the wreck i had right at 1/4 tank. i'm not sure if the fuel pump shut off being triggered could have done this or if somthing in the sending unit was busted on impact?

i'm going to try and take the next few days and relax an recover. i'm def sore but they didnt think i broke any bones or messed up any disks in my back..just pulled some muscles and bruised them thank god!

in all honesty i'm just glad me and the other lady were able to walk away. thats really all that matters i keep telling myself that. but i still cant help but be heart broken over the truck
