So today I did oil and filter change, fuel filters, tranny filter with 8 qrt fluid swap and transfer case fluid change.
You guys down in the warmer states might not appreciate this, but getting to work on the truck in the mid 60's with the sun shining was heaven.
It was only a few weeks ago I was doing the parking brake and rear hub seals in freaking COLD weather with snow flying.
Today was enjoyable and I even had a beer too. Maintenance in the winter outside, sometimes at night after work, can be real disheartening.
Took it for its first "Shake down ride" (just bought it friday) Ended up being about 500 miles to go see family and back... LOVE THE TRUCK!!! Hopefully I can get the mileage up a little bit 13.7 first fill up seemed better this time though will know next time I fill it up.
I removed both front quarter panels of the truck and welded two pieces of small galvenized sheet metal to the insides of the quarter panels to be a backer to the holes in the panels, from removing the f250 emblems, now its time for filler and paint next weekend. Also did the same to the tailgate today. ALL emblems and stickers are now gone except the ford ovals in the grill and the one on the tailgate. FX4 stickers are gone too. Anybody want some free turbo diesel emblems? You have to pay frieght.

I would love the Powerstroke badges! Ford omitted them on the excursions
kornfanjoe, get a couple on your excursion, its a great idea
That picture made me think of the excursion I saw driving down the interstate the other day, it had "super duty" embossed into the rear doors, had the newer style headlamps and front end along with updated mirrors, I kept looking at it wondering how he did it, do they sell a kit to do this, it looked really good.
Installed the F650 dash kit I bought from Clay at RiffRaff. Only been sitting on the shelf for 11 months. It will be nice once I get everything installed/hooked-up. Guys with the four "Upfitters"...eat your heart out, I've got six on my dash and looks factory.
I had my heavy duty emissions guy come over and do my test. I passed with 2.5% opacity on the snap test. good for 2 years again. then me and the truck went for a wash - good times
Install 2ea 12 Volt charging outlets under rear side of front seats for passengers to charge cells and ipods. That removes a lot of clutter with everyone trying to plug in the 2 dash outlets.
Installed four new speakers with a powered subwoofer (sounds AWESOME compared to the cheap stock speakers), changed the oil and filter, and pulled my FICM out to send in for programming. Once she is running again, I will be doing a power steering flush.
