Here is my mystery part for the last 23 years!! It's a cooling fan off my 68 Mustang whose 200 CI engine was pirated from a different (wrecked) 68 Mustang. It's bent and have never been able to take out the damage. I replaced it with another shallow pitched fan off an early Dodge truck buy had to excise one inch from each blade to make it 15 inches diameter and fit my 68

C4DE-8600-A is not a part number, it's the ID engineering number marked on the fan.
There are no Ford part numbers marked on parts after 1956, just casting or ID engineering numbers, when applicable.

That solves the mystery... the A/C application explains its shallow blade pitch and probably why it has been super difficult to find one since it appears AC may not have been a popular option.
I'm not sure what part this is, does anyone know? Horrible picture but it's bolted to my valve covers in the very back left of the engine. It grounds to the block and has a plug with a brown wire coming off of it and into the cab. Does anyone know what this is? Is it an eletric vacuum switch? It has two vacuum ports that are pointing towards the brake booster. I tested with the truck running and it pulls no vacuum. I think one goes to my pcv valve behind the carb, because it's missing a hose, and the other goes to the carb itself, because there is a missing port there too. Any help would be greatly appreciated
You're right, pretty bad pic, but that's a distributor modulator valve (basic part number 12A170). It's part of the emissions control system. One of the lines should go to a ported vacuum switch, the other, in a roundabout way, goes to the vacuum advance.

Yeah, normally an Econoline part would have a "U" instead of a "T" in the part number (D9UZ instead of D9TZ) but in this case Ford used "T" which is kinda unusual because this part only fits an Econoline.
