91 F-150 transmission swap

I have a 91 f-150 4X4 300 6 cylinder with the E4OD transmission. The tranny has given up and I have pulled it out. My issue is finding a reasonably priced E4OD that's close enough to drive and get. I do however, have a junk yard just down the road that has a c6 out of a 1990 truck. I don't care about overdrive as this is strictly just a farm/wood hauling truck. I doubt I put a 1000 miles a year on it. What has to be changed to swap to the c6?

first thing is check bellhousing bolt pattern to even see if C-6 bolts in same place. if mounts up, you'll probably have to work on trans cross member to get trans mount bolts to fit through. But, usually trans crossmembers can be moved around or drilled fairly easy. Also, isn't the E4OD longer than a C-6? If it is, then you'll have to resolve driveshaft length? As you can see, I'm not that familiar with E4OD to C6 swap, only throwing out thoughts of "generalized" transmission swaps. I know early C-6 to later C-6 different bellhousing pattern.

If that C6 was attached to a 300, 301, or 351 it will bolt to your engine. It MUST come from a 4x4 truck or you will need to have it rebuilt to make it a 4x4 transmission. You will need to lengthen the driveshaft because the C6 is quite a bit shorter. There is some minor wiring that will need to be done to make the neutral safety switch work so that the engine will start.

The c6 is coming from a 4x4 truck. I’m guessing if the c6 is shorter and the rear driveshaft needs to be longer then the front would have to be shortened? I could probably get both driveshafts from the junk yard too.
