What would need to be done to install a C6 trans in place of an E4OD in a 93 F150 4x4. Mine is starting to slip bad and I have an opportunity to get a C6.
Thanks,
Shiny
I know almost nothing about tranny's and normaly would not reply to a post like this but I have to ask. Why would you want to go from a 4-sp to a 3-sp? Just curious, Karl...
Well, It's cheaper than a rebuilt E4OD, and since I just basicly drive my truck on weekends, not having the overdrive does not bother me. I had a C6 hooked to my 390 in my 66 Ford and I loved it. Never a problem. Very strong
Thanks ford390gashog,
the part that bothers me, is how do I bypass the computer so that it will still run my engine correctly without the E4OD trans? Would I need to find a computer from a truck that had a 5.0L with a C6 or a AOD, would these work?
Does anyone know?
Thanks,
Shiny
