Hey guys,
I just picked up a 2002 f350 7.3 with 94k original miles on it from a 76 year old gentleman. It has Banks turbine wheel, exhaust brake, intake, exhaust, trans command and tuner. It runs great. Just took it on a 600 mile trip and averaged 18.3 mpg. Runs great and the power is amazing. He's done the fuel filters, diff, trans and oil changes from day one all full syn.
Is there anything I should keep my eyes on ? Never owned a 7.3 before
Welcome to the forum Jorge. Pictures are always welcome here. If the Hutch and Harpoon mods haven't been done it's something you should look into. Other than that with miles that low just drive and enjoy. If you have questions or specific issues we'll be glad to help.
Yes, that truck, especially in CA. They like to get stolen. It's a beauty and there are certain things you will need to know like the Hutch mod, power steering hose rubbing on shock tower, leaking up pipes, hpop lines, driveline thump, spare CPS to name a few. Like Denny says stick around and do some research to learn all the common issues with these trucks. Oh and only buy genuine Ford/IH sensors, the after market ones are flakey to say the least.
PS I have a 2002 also, crew cab long bed 4X4. Best truck I ever had and the 02-03 trucks are the most refined of the 99-03 years, quiet and powerful.
Congratulations, beautiful truck! Are you sure it's a 2002? The red stripe in the door badges, frosted headlights, and lack of crash bar valence on the bumper hint at being a 1999-2000.
wrap a big azz chain around the doors and put a LaClub on the steering wheel. that will keep the theifs out for a while. nice find,, what kinda bucks you have to part with to get it.. ?? ")
