If you read the tech folder at the top of the forum it will give you some excellent advice and pointer on what to watch for.

Welcome to the club! These trucks seem to keep going and going, there are some very knowledgeable people on here that will be more than happy to help you out whenever you have questions about your rig.

For 1K if it runs good & has been well maintained don't know how you can go wrong. Auto or 6 speed ? Trans ever been replaced ?

Sounds like a great deal. Of course the truck will probably need some TLC, but for $1000 you cannot go wrong really.

On the main page for this forum it's one of the sticky threads, right now it's the third one down. There are a lot of procedures that you can research there to fix things that regularly need work.
