Will tuner void warranty?
I've realized that my truck has the exact same throttle lag that my '04 used to have.
Has Ford gotten wise to the tuners on new vehicles? I'm assuming that they have.
I hate to have my warranty voided, but I'm wondering if there are any warranty friendly options (I doubt it...).
Thanks.
Can they detect that you flashed the PCM? Yes.
Is it simple? No.
Will they if you bring it in for a brake problem? Probably not.
Will they if you bring it in for an expensive engine failure/problem? Probably.

As to the OPs question of mod friendly "stuff", not really. If you look into your Owner's Manual, it states about performance enhancing a/m products(which is what your looking into with regard to lag). Now as to will they void it for sure, as was already said that depends. Some dealerships overlook more things then others, does that mean that the dealership down the road would do the same thing, no.
It's like playing russian roulette, just how lucky do you feel?
When I asked my dealer, he said it's not 'simple', but in 15 minutes he could tell when the truck was last flashed. Then he could compare that date/time to Fords records.
I then asked him about tire size changes (done at another (non-Ford) shop) and he said that's where it gets sticky. Just because the PCM has been reflashed it's not conclusive evidence you have a tuner. No more than an NOS sticker means you have nitrous.
All this means (to me anyway) is that if you decide to pull-the trigger,
(pardon the pun) it's imperative you get tunes from an experienced and knowledgeable programmer; don't mess with program settings you don't understand; and maintain your vehicle per the manufacturer's recommendations (as a minimum).

Some aftermarket products may cause severe engine and/or transmission
damage; refer to the What is not covered section in The new vehicle
limited warranty for your vehicle chapter of your vehicle’s Warranty
Guide for more information. Some vehicles are equipped with
Powertrain Control Systems that can detect and store information about
vehicle modifications that, for example, increase horsepower and torque
output; this information cannot be erased and will stay in the system’s
memory even if the modification is removed. When a dealer or repair
facility works on your vehicle, it may be necessary for them to access the
information in the Powertrain Control System. This information will likely
identify if any unauthorized modifications have been made to the system,
which may be used to determine if the warranty has been violated and if
repairs will be covered by warranty.
