Have you ever done the plugs before, if not 139K is pretty good, could you hear the manifold leaking.

plugs had 139000 miles on them! it was in bad need of a tune up though. no i could not hear the exhaust leak.the dealer found it when they changed the plugs. this is a CNG dual fuel and has run mostly on CNG pulling heavy.

Looking to buy a used 6.2

So I've read through this thread in its entirety and I'm sold. Now help me decide which one. Both trucks are F250 Crew Cab 6.2 SB 4x4 XLT. One is a 2011 with 110,000km and one is a 2014 with 135,000km. Both are asking about $27,000.
Did Ford make any improvement on the engine or truck as a whole in the later years of this generation?
Thanks in advance.
Mike

I'd take the 2014, unless the 2011 is in way better condition. Think they are a little high on price on the 2011.

I never purchase first year anything.. 2011 is a First year.. aka, Final Beta Tester.

the 2011 Is priced High. unless trim package is top end.

my 6.2L has 150,000 miles... my math converts that to 240,000 km.... very dependable.
and I tow 10,000 pounds regularly .

Make sure the heating and air blend doors all work correctly. This is an expensive repair, as they are the first component installed in the cab. It's an easily overlooked item that can be $1800 to repair. Check to see if it takes fuel correctly. The tank vents have been a problem if the truck is used in dusty areas.

The 6.2 is so tough that 200K is just nicely broken in now and ready for 200K more.

A big problem is your tools will need to be cared for and wiped down like those nice Matco, Bonney, Blue-Point and Mac wrenches will develop surface rust from not being hardly ever needed.
