I have a recently purchased 06 F350 PSD with 89,000 miles. A little over a month left on the warranty. I recently installed an Edge Insight CTS. Today, on the way home from work, with an outside temp of 91F the Edge Insight read an ECT of 195-197 and an EOT of 205-207. No load on the truck and 40 miles of flat highway at 72mph. Today's temps were higher than previous days (189/199).
Any thoughts or advice? What should "normal" temps be? As far as I can tell, the truck is stock. Looks like gold coolant.
Oh yeh, are there calibration issues with an Edge Insight CTS?
I tried using the search function(ECT EOT) to look for guidance but didn't strike gold. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I'm getting paranoid.
Yeah. 10 degree's is good. I usually run about 11. Also, don't worry about the ECT being higher than the 190 that the thermostat opens at. In the really high heat of the Mohave and Death Valley in August (100-115 degrees), climbing hills while empty, I was seeing ECT as high as 215 to 218 and I don't believe that is a problem.
